The Town of LaGrange has recently been approached by the Nodiac Corporation regarding their interest in potentially siting a modular data center within the Town limits.

The Town Board's intent is to assess this request as we would any other development, but fully understand that data centers are a hot button issue.  We feel the Modular Data Center Community Risk Assessment linked below will be a great tool to help us understand the implications of such a site.  We recognize, however, that this document likely isn't complete so will rely on community input to help us ensure we fully understand and assess all aspects of Nodiac's proposal.

We also want to stress that, as presented in their Community Information Guide (linked below), Nodiac's proposal is significantly different from the very large, multi-billion dollar data centers that are in development in the southern part of the state.

This issue will be a standing agenda item for our Monthly Town Board meetings until resolved plus we expect there to be at least one public hearing so we can gather additional public input.

As always, the Town Board's role in any evaluation like this is to fairly balance landowner rights with appropriate development that minimizes impacts on resident quality of life and public infrastructure while maximizing public safety and economic development.  The Board's commitment to full transparency, valuing public input, and informed, dispassionate decision-making remains firm as we address this issue.
